Eduroam – Connect MS Windows 10

These instructions explain how to connect a Windows 10 device to the eduroam wireless network.

Using Bristol-Wifi-Setup network on campus

  1. When on campus connect to the Bristol-Wifi-Setup network. Bristol-Wifi-Setup network will be available in your list of available wifi networks.
  2. Once connected, open your web browser, for example, Chrome or Microsoft Edge. You will automatically be taken to this site, wireless.bris.ac.uk.
  3. Navigate to this page > ‘Students & Staff: get connected to eduroam’ > ‘macOS’
  4. Use the following link to download the UoB eduroam installer.
  5. Follow the instructions provided by the installer.
  6. When prompted enter your UoB username using the full email format (e.g. ab12345@bristol.ac.uk) and password to establish the Eduroam connection.

Using a University wired connection

  1. If you have a wired connection to the University network please download UoB Eduroam installer (wired) for Windows 10.
  2. Follow the instructions provided by the installer.
  3. When prompted enter your UoB username using the full email format (e.g. ab12345@bristol.ac.uk) and password to establish the Eduroam connection.

Using another wireless or wired connection

If you have an alternative wireless or wired connection, such as home wifi or wired connection.

  1. Visit cat.eduroam.org
  2. Use the ‘Click here to download your eduroam installer’ button.
  3. Select University of Bristol from the drop-down list of organisations.
  4. Select ‘eduroam’ or ‘eduroam wireless only’
  5. Download and run the Eduroam MS Windows 10 Installer
  6. When prompted enter your UoB username using the full email format (e.g. ab12345@bristol.ac.uk) and password to establish the Eduroam connection.

Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble connecting to eduroam then removing your eduroam profile and setting it up again may resolve the problem. Please see the instructions on how to remove your eduroam profile.
