FAQ: Do UoB visitor usernames work with eduroam?

Bristol active directory visitor usernames, which are of the format dept001v, can be used with eduroam at Bristol only. These usernames at not enabled for roaming. This means that dept001v users will not be able to connect to eduroam whilst at different organisation. As always, a realm suffix must be appended to the username when connecting to eduroam i.e. use dept001v@bristol.ac.uk as the username for eduroam.

All fully registered Bristol staff & students are able to use eduroam at any eduroam location.

Usernames for the VisitorNet visitor wireless service will only work with that service, and can not be used with eduroam (usernames formatted like viwi-0001v).
