FAQ: My Nokia / Symbian device will not connect
When following the connection instructions for Symbian, one of the most frequent errors, is to leave the Realm in use option set to ‘From certificate’. This is incorrect. Realm in use must be set to User-configured.
In order to fix / check this, navigate through the menu as follows:
Menu » Tools » Settings » Connection » Access points » Select eduroam from the list » Press Options » Edit » WLAN security settings » EAP plug-in settings » Select EAP-TTLS from the list » Press Options » Configure » In the General list, scroll down to find Realm in use.
The correct settings for example user ab1234 (wireless username ab1234@bristol.ac.uk) would be like this screenshot:
