Wireless VisitorNet is a wireless service for visitors to the University. Any member of staff can request Wireless VisitorNet usernames for their guests, and there is no charge for this service. Wireless VisitorNet usernames only work with Wireless VisitorNet and do not provide access to any other services.
VisitorNet in Halls provides wired network access to visitors residing in a University residence. This is a charged service. Additionally, when a person connects and pays for VisitorNet Halls, the username they are allocated will allow access to VisitorNet Wireless – This is detailed in an email sent to each person after payment.
Why don’t Wireless VisitorNet usernames work with VisitorNet Halls? – This is because Wireless VisitorNet is a free service, and VisitorNet Halls requires payment. If you need to use both services, it is advisable to sign up for VisitorNet Halls in your room in a University residence first. This will give you a single username that works with both services.
